Becoming a Best Boss

This presentation equips HR managers to facilitate the “Becoming a Best Boss” workshop within their own organizations. HR managers learn how to guide reflection on best and worst bosses, present research on leadership attributes, facilitate individual self-assessments, and support participants in creating actionable leadership development plans. The session also prepares them to help managers select accountability partners and conduct follow-up check-ins with their teams three to six months later. By the end, HR managers are ready to deliver the workshop to help their managers strengthen the habits of effective leaders.

Training and HR professionals can use the information gained to develop initiatives to help new (and even seasoned) managers develop the skills of excellent leaders. We’ve identified seven steps, which take about 90 minutes in total, that facilitators can incorporate into their manager training programs.
